SNL Skewers Hillary on Eve of Campaign Announcement

Last night, Saturday Night Live took advantage of Hillary Clinton’s expected Sunday campaign announcement to skewer the former secretary of state in the Cold Open segment of the show.

As the announcement is expected to take place via social media, SNL‘s Hillary (Kate McKinnon) warms up with some vocal exercises: “Hillary is a granny with a twinkle in her eye. Hillary is a granny and she makes an apple pie. First female president, first female president. Me, me, me, me, me, me!”

“Just look natural” an aide says, handing her a Blackberry to record a “selfie” video to make the announcement.

Clinton scowls into the camera and huffs: “CITIZENS. YOU WILL ELECT ME. I WILL BE YOUR LEADER.”

After a few more outtakes, the aide suggests “don’t worry, we’ll just delete that off your phone.”  Clinton responds “we know a thing or two about that, right?”

Meanwhile, some Clinton defenders are accusing those opposed to Clinton of using coded language to describe Clinton’s ambitions for higher office as sexist.
