Trump trolls Hillary, thanks Bill Clinton ‘for being honest’ about Obamacare

Donald Trump thanked Bill Clinton for “being honest” about the failures of Obamacare on Tuesday, and suggested the former president probably “went through hell” after criticizing the healthcare law.

“Did you hear yesterday, of all people… President Bill Clinton came out and told the truth about Obamacare?” Trump asked his supporters at a rally in Prescott, Ariz. “He absolutely trashed President Obama’s signature legislation.”

While stumping for his wife on Monday in Michigan, Clinton described Obamacare as “the craziest thing” and admitted that Americans have found “their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half.”

“Remember, Hillary Clinton called Obamacare one of the greatest accomplishments of President Obama, of the Democratic party and of the country,” Trump recalled. “But Bill Clinton has a much different view.”

“He’s actually right,” Trump said after reading excerpts of Clinton’s controversial remarks aloud. “Clinton added that it doesn’t make any sense and that the insurance model doesn’t work. Now, I’ve been saying that for a long time. At least he’s honest.”

“I’ll be he went through hell last night,” Trump said of Clinton. “Can you imagine? Can you imagine what he went through after making that statement?”

“He went through hell but, you know, honestly, there have been many nights when he’s gone through hell with Hillary in all fairness,” he added, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“I want to thank him, honestly, for being honest,” Trump said. “Because that’s it, exactly what he said is it.”
