A 60-year-old man died after he was hit by a car crossing a street in Hybla Valley.

Fairfax County police said Robert Berry was crossing Richmond Highway near Arlington Drive when he was struck by a Nissan Rogue at about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Berry wasn’t in a crosswalk when the crash happened.

Berry was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the car’s 58-year-old female driver remained at the scene. Police said alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash, but officers are still investigating.
