Rosa Alvayero, a student at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, has won the Consuelo W. Gosnell Memorial Scholarship, offered by the National Association of Social Workers Foundation.
The scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated a commitment to working with or who have a special affinity with American-Indian/Alaskan Native and Hispanic populations, or in public and voluntary nonprofit agency settings.
Alvayero has been recognized at the university and state level for her leadership skills, having won previous awards such as the UMB Presidential Scholarship, MCH School of Social Work Leadership Scholarship, and the William Donald Schaefer Scholarship.
