Poll: Americans choose Romney over Obama on econ

Quinnipiac University released a new poll today showing that by a 10-point margin, 49 – 39 percent, Americans say Mitt Romney would do a better job on the economy than President Obama.

Quinnipiac also found that 77 percent of Americans believe the U.S. economy is already in recession, and only 29 percent believe the economy will get better if Obama is elected. The poll also found Obama’s net approval rating, 55 – 41 percent disapprove, at an all time low.

“The trend isn’t good for President Barack Obama. His disapproval has gone up 9 points since the summer, from 46 percent in July to 52 percent in September to 55 percent today,” Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a release.
