ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minneapolis SWAT officer has been charged with assault for allegedly punching a man in the head at a bar and seriously injuring him.

According to the complaint, Sgt. David Clifford told police he was sitting near the victim’s table and took offense to language being used. Anoka County Sheriff’s Cmdr. Paul Sommer said the victim was on a cellphone.
