Straw poll: Bachmann wins, Perry beats Romney
AMES, Iowa — Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann narrowly won the 2011 Ames straw poll by only 152 votes over Texas Rep. Ron Paul on Saturday. Bachmann won 4,823 votes compared to Paul’s 4,671 votes, and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty placed third with 2,293 votes. A total of 16,892 Iowans voted in the straw poll.  […]

AMES, Iowa — Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann narrowly won the 2011 Ames straw poll by only 152 votes over Texas Rep. Ron Paul on Saturday.

Bachmann won 4,823 votes compared to Paul’s 4,671 votes, and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty placed third with 2,293 votes. A total of 16,892 Iowans voted in the straw poll.
