Dianne Feinstein: Hillary Clinton has ‘accepted’ election results

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has “accepted” her crushing defeat against President-elect Donald Trump, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Thursday.

“Anybody that’s lost a big election knows it’s never easy,” Feinstein told CNN after a private dinner with Clinton.

“She has accepted it, and that’s what makes it hard.”

Feinstein said Clinton is planning to take time away from the spotlight to “recoup.”

“This is hard, you can imagine. … She’s resilient. … Everything is good except the result,” she said.

Clinton made a rare public appearance at the Capitol on Thursday for the unveiling of retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s portrait.

“This is not exactly the speech at the Capitol I hoped to be giving after the election, but after a few weeks of taking selfies in the woods, I thought it would be a good idea to come out,” she joked.
