A Burger King employee was arrested after she allegedly pointed a gun at a customer who was upset about an incorrect order on New Year’s Day.
The incident happened at a store in Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday, according to WMC5. The victim told police that she was in the drive-thru and complained about the order to Oderrial Moore-Williams, 38, who responded by yelling and cursing at her.
Another employee at the store, identified as J.D., said that Moore-Williams was the manager of the store and that the victim refused to leave the store after being asked.
“My boss asked her to leave, she would not leave,” J.P. said.
According to police, Moore-Williams went outside and pointed a handgun at the angry customer. A witness told police that they later saw Moore-Williams put the gun inside a paper bag and hand it to another woman who then left the Burger King.
A representative for the fast-food chain, which does not allow employees to carry weapons, said that Moore-Williams was fired after the incident.
“We take the safety and security of everyone at Burger King restaurants very seriously,” the representative said. “This behavior does not reflect our expectations. The franchise is fully cooperating with the authorities and has terminated the employee.”
Moore-Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
“It’s like the very first day of the year, so it’s a very bad way to start the year,” said J.P.
