‘White devils’: Man arrested and charged after slashing 12-year-old at McDonald’s while screaming racial slurs

A Pittsburgh man stands accused of tackling and stabbing a 12-year-old boy at a McDonald’s in an attack that police say was racially charged.

Charles Edward Turner, a 51-year-old black man, reportedly called police and McDonald’s staff “white devils” and “white n——” as they tried to restrain him after he slashed a 12-year-old child with a box cutter, according to WPXI News.

The child was reportedly waiting in line with three of his family members when Turner approached him from behind and stabbed him in the neck before wrestling with the family members.

When police arrived on the scene, Turner was pacing back and forth outside shouting racial slurs, and he fought with officers after they approached him.

Turner was questioned by the boy’s family members as to why he started the attack, and he told them “he only wanted to finish his coffee and then leave the restaurant.”
