Unintended Sabbath gasbag hilarity

Kyl: Your health care reform makes me urpy.   No public option for cheesesteak

Sen. Jon Kyl, an Arizona Republican, and New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer were on CBS’ “Face the Nation” earlier today.

They seemed a little punchy from working late on Saturday. At any rate, they agreed on very little. Kyl was particularly hot and bothered about including a public option in health care reform

SEN. KYL:….And, you know, to think that you can be both a
competitor and the umpire, and you’re not going to have the advantage
is —

SEN. SCHUMER:  No, they’re not the umpire.

SEN. KYL:  Well, the government is the umpire —

SEN. SCHUMER:  Uh-uh, no.

SEN. KYL:  Chuck, please don’t interrupt me here.  I’ve read good
 portions of this bill.

Really, senator? Not the whole bill? Oh well. So these two gents seems to know a lot about health care reform. Is the bill likely to raise everyone’s taxes? Host Bob Schieffer investigates, asking directly whether people will pay more taxes for reform:

SEN. KYL:  Yes.

SEN. SCHUMER:  No.

SEN. KYL:  (Laughs.)

MR. SCHIEFFER:  Yes, no?

Glad we got that all sorted.
