106.7FM The Fan will air 10 Nationals Spring Training games

As we reported last week the Nationals have changed their Flagship station to 106.7FM The Fan DC and starting this weekend they will broadcast the first of 10 Spring Training. All games will be offered on both FM and AM so as to get the most coverage over the region.

Games on the AM side will be heard on either WFED 1500 or WHFS 1580AM.

The popular duo of Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler will serve as the team’s radio voices during the 2011 season.

March 6th and 7th will kick off the coverage of 106.7FM The Fan DC Sunday against the Braves and then Monday against the Astros and both will air at 1:05p.m.

“With 106.7 The Fan’s great roster of talent and focus on local sports programming, it seemed only natural to add Nationals game broadcasts to the station’s lineup,” Nationals COO Andrew Feffer said. “In addition to offering our fans more Nationals programming than ever before, this partnership will help extend our promotional reach through various local radio stations across the D.C. region.”

As part of the agreement, 106.7 The Fan will broadcast a variety of Nationals-related programs, including daily reports from Nationals spring training, pre- and post-game shows, and hourly Nationals programs twice a week throughout the season. The station will also operate a studio set behind Section 106 at Nationals Park for pre-game and post-game coverage, and special live broadcasts of its local sports talk shows.

“We are pleased and proud to be the flagship for the Washington Nationals,” said Sam Rogers, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Washington D.C. “106.7 The Fan is the market leader for sports and adding the Nationals to our already impressive roster of talent and play-by-play offerings only solidifies that. We look forward to being a part of the resurgence of major league baseball in D.C.”

106.7 The Fan broadcasts a local lineup of sports talk shows including the Sports Junkies, Lavar Arrington, Chad Dukes, Mike Wise, and Holden Kushner.
