As if Cleveland fans haven’t suffered enough

According to a formula created by the Nielsen Company, the most-hated MLB team is … the Cleveland Indians, of course.

What’s to hate? Their history of choking in the postseason? Their recent tendency to trade away Cy Young winners? Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn?

While Cleveland certainly doesn’t rock according to the report by The Wall Street Journal, the Evil Empire Yankees and their 27 championships rank as the fifth-most despised franchise — one spot in front of the Washington Nationals.

It’s the first time the Nats have ranked in the top 10 in any poll. I guess having back-to-back 100-loss seasons really rubs people the wrong way.

The San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics were the two most-liked clubs.

At least the scale was spot-on with having the Red Sox “Nation” as the second most-hated team.
