UPDATE: Suspect identified in Germantown stabbing

UPDATE, 4:37 p.m.: Police have identified the suspect as James E. Biddinger. He is charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.

ORIGINAL POST, 10:26 a.m.: Police say a suspect is in custody after a Germantown man was stabbed to death.

Kevin A. Mbayo, 22, was found suffering a stab wound to his torso inside in a townhouse on the 13000 block of Country Ridge Drive shortly before 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Montgomery County police. He was taken to Suburban Hospital, where he died.

Police said another man fled from the scene and called police from a nearby shopping center. Officers arrived at the center and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect is a 27-year-old man from Germantown who knows Mbayo, police said. His name hasn’t been released because he has not been formally charged. Police said officers are still investigating the circumstances of the stabbing.
