Apple unveiled a new credit card earlier this week they described as “beautiful,” but which they now say has some durability issues.
The card launched Tuesday and the tech company had to update its support page to include instructions on “how to protect and maintain” the titanium Apple Card.
The page says that “contact with hard surfaces or materials” can cause damages. The company also warns that leather wallets and denim jeans could “cause permanent discoloration that will not wash off.”
Additionally, users should not put the card in the same slot of a wallet with another card as it could cause scratches.
The fragility of the card caused some people to make fun of Apple’s design.

“Hey guys, let’s design a credit card that we recommend you don’t keep in contact with what the majority of wallets have ever been made of.”
Calling it now, Apple will release a $200 Apple Card “accessory” wallet. And release a $2k Hermès model.

Despite the card’s delicate nature, Apple has billed it as “the most significant change” to the credit card in the last 50 years. The physical card is an addendum to the digital card only available on iPhone, which allows users to sign up quickly using their Apple ID.
For those who want to use the titanium card, Apple suggests using a wallet or bag “made of soft materials.”
