A Lyft driver shot two men who tried to steal his car after he was rear-ended twice in West Philadelphia Monday.
The 38-year-old Lyft driver, whose name has not been made public, was approached by two men with a gun, according to WTXF.
Police said the Lyft driver used his valid permit to carry a firearm and shot the men as one tried to take the vehicle and the other drove off in the first vehicle that rear-ended him.
Police said both men were found and arrested with weapons recovered from the vehicles, according to KYW-TV.
The Lyft driver was not shot.
Upon arrest, both suspects were taken to a local hospital, where they are in critical condition. One suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, while the other was shot in the rib cage area, according to police.

The incident happened at the 1100 block of North 40th Street in Philadelphia.
