Michael Cohen’s attorney: Stormy Daniels’ lawyer is ‘a PR machine’

David Schwartz, the lawyer representing President Trump attorney Michael Cohen, lashed out at porn star Stormy Daniels’ legal representative Sunday, slamming him for being “a PR machine.”

“I give this guy credit for one thing,” Schwartz told John Catsimatidis on New York’s AM 970, referring to Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti. “He’s made the best out of this story. The guy is a PR machine and he’s only in it for himself,” he continued.

Schwartz defended the $130,000 payment Cohen made to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, days before the 2016 presidential election as part of a “hush agreement” not to go public with details of an alleged affair between the adult film star and Trump.

“We know that many politicians, many elected officials, have entered into [similar arrangements]. And guess what? We were never notified about it,” Schwartz said.

“Whose money paid for those settlements? It was your money and my money and the taxpayers’ money paid for those settlements,” he added.

Daniels is suing Trump over the validity of their nondisclosure agreement, arguing it does not exist because the president never signed the deal.

Since the suit was filed, Avenatti has been a fixture on cable news, advocating for his client.

Daniels is also suing Cohen for defamation, alleging he has damaged her reputation.
