Temperatures this week in the Washington area will be close to normal most days, the National Weather Service reported.
Highs will hover in the 60s much of the week, forecasters said. Wednesday is expected to be the warmest day, with a high of about 71 degrees in the District.
The normal highs to start April are 62 and 63 degrees at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The Weather Service predicts that today’s peak will come close to matching that, with a high near 62. Thursday and Friday are expected to be a few degrees below normal.
In contrast, the record highs to start April are 85 degrees and above, according to Weather Service records. The record high on Friday’s date, which occurred in 1942, was 92 degrees.
Though termperatures will be near normal for the first week of April, don’t expect any April showers. No rain is in the forecast this week.
