Who said SNL couldn’t make fun of their own? Liberals, to be exact.
On the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, the writers and cast envision a world where the election never happened. Hillary Clinton didn’t lose, and Donald Trump didn’t pull off the biggest upset in American political history.
In a commercial-style sketch, SNL created ‘The Bubble,’ a head-in-the-sand community where they accept “like-minded free thinkers….and no one else.”
‘The Bubble,’ which is literally a city encapsulated by a giant bubble, provides a safe space for progressives with a plethora of hybrid cars, used-book stores and “small farms with the rawest milk you’ve ever tasted.”
They even poke fun at how liberals claim they’re not racist or ignorant.
“We don’t see color here, but we celebrate it,” says Kyle Mooney, standing alongside Sasheer Zamata, who rolls her eyes after his remarks.
The ad continues where they encourage anyone to come join them where a one bedroom apartment starts at $1.9 million, and that planning for everything ‘The Bubble” needs by January 2017 is underway, except for police officers and firefighters.
“We haven’t found any who’d agree to live here,” Mooney admitted.
After making their final pitch to have anyone come live in ‘The Bubble,’ you can hear Kenan Thompson’s voiceover say, “The Bubble: It’s Brooklyn with a bubble on it.”
