A social worker working in Anne Arundel and Talbot counties pleaded guilty Thursday to practicing social work without a license.
Jennifer Mast Rinehart, of Cordova, fooled her supervisors at the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services with a copy of what she said was her license. In June 2003, she was promoted to the position of Social Worker II, which requires a valid Maryland graduate social worker license.
Rinehart then moved to the Talbot County Department of Social Services in August 2007, where the personnel director discovered she never received a license.
The Board of Social Work Examiners conducted an investigation and discovered Rinehart?s licenses were fraudulent.
Talbot County Circuit Court Judge Sidney S. Campen sentenced Rinehart to a 60 day suspended sentence, two years of supervised probation, and 100 hours of community service. Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge William C. Mulford, II sentenced Rinehart to another 60 day suspended sentence, a $500 fine and one year unsupervised probation.
