‘Ace of Cakes’ creates bulldog cake for Georgetown

Duff Goldman, founder of Baltimore’s Charm City Cakes, visited Georgetown University Tuesday night and whipped up a sweet version of the school’s mascot.

Goldman, star of Food Network’s “Ace of Cakes,” created a Jack the Bulldog cake using vanilla cake and marshmallow fondant, decorating his masterpiece while taking questions from an auditorium filled with students.

“This is a real cake, by the way,” Duffman said, sticking his finger into the icing and licking it, according to the Georgetown Voice’s blog, Vox Populi.

“I just realized that was really rude, sorry,” he continued.

Goldman also admitted he had tried a Georgetown Cupcake — and liked it.

“They were really good,” he said.

The completed cake featured Jack the Bulldog’s face, complete with a spiked blue collar and a blue and white Georgetown cap.

Goldman’s cakes typically sell for about $1,000.
