Clinton campaign enters June with $42M cash on hand

Hillary Clinton’s campaign began June with $42 million cash on hand after pulling in $28 million during May, according to a Federal Election Commission filings released Monday.

Hillary for America received more than 650,000 donations from approximately 430,000 people through its work with joint fundraising committee Hillary Victory Fund.

“We’re starting the general election in strong financial shape thanks to the support of more than 1.3 million people and strategic investments that helped us conserve our resources,” Robby Mook, Hillary for America campaign manager, said. “That grassroots support will be critical to our success and will ensure that we have the resources we need to communicate Hillary Clinton’s message that we are stronger together.”

The average May contribution to the presumptive Democratic nominee was $44 and 60 percent of donors identified as women. It was the second month in a row Clinton outraised her rival Bernie Sanders, likely due to her becoming the party’s likely ballot choice come November.

Hillary for America has $1.2 million in debt and has raised $247 million since she announced her campaign last April.

Clinton also pulled in $13.5 million for the Democratic National Committee and state parties, putting her grand total for the month around $42 million.
