A fourth-grade teacher was arrested after she was drunk at school, according to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Laura Ann Collins, 43, of Leesburg was charged with being drunk in public.

A staff member at Creighton’s Corner Elementary School in Ashburn alerted school district police Wednesday afternoon. The officer determined that Collins — a teacher for the Loudoun public schools for 20 years — had been drinking and she was arrested.

School officials said Collins was in a training session and was not teaching students at the time of the incidents.
