GOP nominee Donald Trump declared that the system is “rigged” because his opponent Hillary Clinton “should have been precluded from running for president of the United States.”
Speaking at an event in Gettysburg, Pa., on Saturday, Trump doubled down on previous claims that the election will be rigged. He pointed out that the FBI and Department of Justice played a hand in Clinton’s campaign.
“The FBI and the Justice Department covered up her crimes, which included lying to the FBI and Congress on numerous occasions,” said Trump, referring to Clinton’s answers on her private email system that was the subject of an FBI investigation.
Earlier this year, FBI Director James Comey declined to recommend charges against Clinton, but chided her for being careless with confidential information during her tenure as secretary of state.
