JULIAN, Calif. (AP) — The San Diego Sheriff’s Department says it found the body of a man next to a plane wreck in a remote area of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Searchers made the discovery Saturday morning while looking for a plane reported missing Friday.
The plane was found upside down in a desolate area known as “Borrego Badlands.”
The San Diego medical examiner was investigating the death.
The Sheriff’s Department says that federal air safety and transportation officials will investigate the crash Sunday.
