Biden visits US Vets training center in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden used a visit to a U.S. Vets Inc. training center in Las Vegas to thank military veterans and pledge to make good on what he calls an a government obligation to support them as they return home.

Biden shook hands and chatted Tuesday with 32 veterans and several instructors and administrators of the nonprofit agency.

The vice president says supporting veterans isn’t a handout. He says veterans deserve everything the country can do for them.

Biden spoke earlier to the National Council of La Raza annual conference.

He’s due next in Utah to host a campaign fundraiser at a private home in Park City. His wife, Jill Biden, is scheduled to meet with military families at a Salt Lake City n Air National Guard base.
