Trump campaign and GOP allies raise nearly half a billion dollars in 2019

President Trump’s reelection campaign, in conjunction with the Republican National Committee, raised nearly half a billion dollars last year alone.

The pair raised $463 million in 2019, with $46 million of that coming in the fourth quarter. Comparatively, at this point in President Barack Obama’s first term, the Democratic Party raised approximately $220 million in 2011.

“President Trump’s unwavering commitment to keeping his promises to the American people has propelled us to break fundraising records again this quarter,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement to the Washington Post. “Democrats’ baseless impeachment charade has only made support for President Trump stronger.”

The Democratic National Committee raised $86.3 million in 2019 as of the end of November and was indebted for $6.5 million, according to campaign finance filings, while the RNC raised more than two and a half times that on its own in the last year.

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont led the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates in fourth-quarter fundraising, amassing $34.5 million. Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg raised $24.7 million, former Vice President Joe Biden brought in $22.7 million, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts raked in $21.2 million. No 2020 Democratic candidate has said how much they have in the bank.
