Social Security payments are set to get a whopping 8.7% cost-of-living adjustment next year, and SSI will get a considerable boost of $73 per month in 2023 from the payments in 2022, resulting in the $914 figure.

When the first of the month falls on a holiday or a weekend, payments are typically rolled out on the last weekday before the first of the next month. The double payment scheduling quirk took effect for January, May, and October of this year, as well as January of next year.
