THE RECALL: Ford is recalling 7,600 Escape SUVs from the 2013 model year to fix coolant leaks that can cause engines to overheat or even catch fire. Affected are with 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines.
THE PROBLEM: Plugs that cover holes in the engine can come loose and let coolant leak. One fire was reported by a dealer when coolant hit hot engine parts and ignited. No one was hurt. Ford says it has no complaints from consumers.
