VIDEO: Happy anniversary, Obamacare

It was a year ago that healthcare.gov opened to the American public and Democrats and supporters of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act cheered the coming of a new law. However, things quickly went south for supporters as problems started mounting with the rollout.

Americans who wanted to sign up for insurance through exchanges were met with technological failures as healthcare.gov refused to cooperate for the first few months after the initial rollout. The problems became so bad it forced Obama to make a public apology for the issues.

Democrats and Republicans one year later remain split on whether the law has been a success. Republicans point to higher premiums for some as an indicator the law failed while Democrats say the law’s a success based on the decreased number of uninsured Americans.
