Trump bashed a new biopic about him, denouncing it as “defamatory” and a “hatchet job.”
“A FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, The Apprentice (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully “bomb,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “It’s a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’”
The Apprentice stars Sebastian Stan as Trump and focuses on his rise to stardom and mentoring by lawyer Ray Cohn. It was a box-office bomb on the opening weekend, earning an estimated $1.58 million on a $16 million budget. It was released in 1,750 theaters.
