Mayor-elect Vince Gray isn’t too pleased with the reported change of quarterbacks on his beloved Washington Redskins.
Several media outlets have reported that Donovan McNabb has been benched and Rex Grossman will get the start for Sunday’s game agains the Dallas Cowboys.
“How do you sign a guy for five years, for what almost a $50 million dollar contract, and then sit him down for Rex Grossman?” Gray said Friday with a laugh. “Did you see his one play? He was the bologna in a sandwich.”
Grossman was on the field for one offensive drive this season during the final minutes of a close game against the Detroit Lions. But he botched a snap and lost the ball.
“Rex was a great college quarterback,” Gray said. “I’ll leave it at that.”
