More than 40 percent of American voters are skeptical of the allegations of sexual assault leveled against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, according to a new poll that comes as the Senate works to schedule a hearing for the circuit court judge and his accuser.
Only 13 percent of Republicans find the allegation by Christine Blasey Ford, a California-based professor and high school classmate of Kavanaugh’s, to be credible. Ford claims Kavanaugh attempted to rape her more than three decades ago, when they were both teenagers and attended a party where underage drinking occurred.
