Protests against police killings of African-Americans continued Friday evening in cities around the United States, even after the shooting of five police officers in Dallas on Thursday.

Thousands took the streets, clogging roadways in New York City, Atlanta and Philadelphia, while events were staged in perhaps a dozen other cities as well, including Baton Rouge, Baltimore and Minneapolis. Most were peaceful, though there were many confrontations with police. Many carried signs and shouted slogans supported the Black Lives Matter movement.
