EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A day of special events is planned at the Eli and Edythe Broad (BROHD) Art Museum that’s centered on an artist’s portraiture project.
Jochen Gerz plans to return to the museum at Michigan State University in East Lansing on Sunday for the final phase of “The Gift: Lansing Michigan.”
The museum says about 1,200 people participated in The Gift project. Area residents posed for portraits in an instant photo lab in East Lansing and a pop-up studio inside the museum. Those photos were printed and added to a changing display.
On Saturday, as part of the events, Gerz will select portraits for participants to take home. People won’t get their own picture.
An events schedule is posted online. The new $40-$45 million art museum opened last month.
