A top military officer in wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday morning, and said U.S. troops and people in Afghanistan are optimistic that the Trump administration’s new policy there is creating optimism in the region.

“There’s optimism here with the Afghan people,” Brig. Gen. William Graham, commander and division engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said in an interview with C-SPAN.
