RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Police on Long Island are looking for four men who attacked and robbed a man in a wheelchair.
They say the man was nearing the Long Island Railroad tracks in Riverhead after leaving church when the attack occurred.
The suspects came from behind, knocking him out of his wheelchair. Police say they struck him with sticks or pipes and then stole his money and prescription drugs.
The attack occurred on June 1 around 10:30 p.m.
Suffolk County police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
