NEW YORK (AP) — Avon Products, a direct-seller of beauty products, on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss, hurt by restructuring charges, costs for paying down debt, and the devaluation of Venezuelan currency.
However, adjusted results beat expectations, a sign that the company’s turnaround plan is beginning to show results, and shares rose more than 9 percent in premarket trading.
