The conservative nonprofit America Rising Squared on Monday fired its “first shot” in the coming Supreme Court nomination battle, with a new ad aimed at Democrats facing midterm election fights in 2018.

As President Trump prepares to name his nominee to fill the high court vacancy Tuesday, America Rising Squared, an offshoot of the America Rising super PAC, unveiled a digital ad showing Democrats urging the Senate to review any Supreme Court nominee put forward by the president. The comments made by Democrats shown in the ad came as Republicans last year blocked Judge Merrick Garland, former President Barack Obama’s nominee to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
