Tire company heir Anne Firestone Ball dies at 79

GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) — Tire company heir and philanthropist Anne Firestone Ball has died from injuries she suffered during a fire in her Connecticut home. She was 79.

Ball’s son, John Ball Jr., said Wednesday that his mother died Friday at Bridgeport Hospital from complications after surgery for injuries she sustained in a kitchen fire in her Greenwich home April 4.
