LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — More storms have dumped rain and hail in parts of Texas in a week where drought conditions statewide improved due to additional moisture.
The U.S. Drought Monitor map, released Thursday, shows almost 48 percent of Texas is out of drought, up from about 43 percent last week. Storms in El Paso on Monday helped eliminate drought from most of the area.
