Tom Steyer denies he’s paying Michael Cohen’s legal bills

Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer denied he’s paying Michael Cohen’s legal bills.

“For the record, I am not paying — nor have I paid — Mr. Cohen’s legal bills,” Steyer tweeted Wednesday during Cohen’s testimony before the House Oversight Committee.

Republicans questioned whether Steyer, who is behind a push to impeach President Trump, played any role in Cohen’s testimony.

Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., asked the former Trump lawyer who was paying his legal counsel, which includes Clinton loyalist Lanny Davis.

“Tom Steyer, regarding him or any of his representatives, anyone associated with him, is he or any of them paying Lanny Davis to represent you?” Hice asked Cohen.

“Not that I’m aware of,” Cohen said, later adding that no one is currently paying Davis to represent him.

“So he’s doing all this work for nothing?” Hice asked.

“Yes, sir, and I hope so,” Cohen responded.

“I kind of doubt it,” Hice said.

Earlier in the hearing, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, claimed Steyer may have played a role in Cohen’s appearance.
