Jan. 6 committee requests Ivanka Trump testimony

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot requested a voluntary interview with Ivanka Trump, a former senior White House adviser to her father, President Donald Trump.

In a letter Thursday, Chairman Bennie Thompson outlined four areas that it wanted to ask Ivanka Trump about: conversations that she had or witnessed regarding the plan to obstruct the counting of electoral votes, conversations she had and actions she took as the riot unfolded and staff asked her to talk to Donald Trump to intervene, whether the president was attempting to hold up deployment of the National Guard and about her father’s activities and conduct in the weeks after the riot.
