Provident Bank has taken over deposits at seven Chevy Chase Bank branch locations in Baltimore-area Giant Food stores, the Baltimore-based bank said Wednesday.
The deposits added total $42 million and include more than 8,000 consumer and commercial customers. The accounts are located in Giant stores at Wilkens Avenue, Owings Mills, Ridgely Plaza, York Road Plaza, Ravenwood, Hunt Valley and Edmondson Square.
The acquisition does not include the sale of loans, leases, other assets or branch locations inside those affected stores, Provident said in a statement. – Aaron Cahall
