Ocean City’s iconic pier will be rebuilt for the summer 2013 season, The Daily Times of Salisbury reported.
The pier was badly damaged during Hurricane Sandy. A large section of the pier ended up disappearing into the ocean, and some pilings that were left standing were removed so that they aren’t a navigational hazard for boats.
The Daily Times reported that the pier’s franchise holder has committed to rebuilding the landmark.
