Clinton bashes Trump as ‘unpatriotic’ and ‘scary’

Hillary Clinton trashed Donald Trump’s praise for Russian President Vladimir Putin in remarks to reporters on the tarmac in front of her airplane on Thursday.

Clinton called Trump’s comments at MSNBC’s commander in chief forum “unpatriotic” and “scary.”

“Bizarrely once again, he praised Russia’s strongman Vladimir Putin, even taking the astonishing step of suggesting that he prefers the Russian president to our American president,” Clinton said. “Now that is not just unpatriotic and insulting to the people of our country as well as to our commander-in-chief. It is scary because it suggests he will let Putin do whatever Putin wants to do.”

Clinton went on to question what other American presidents would think of Donald Trump.

What would Ronald Reagan say about a Republican nominee who attacks America’s generals and heaps praise on Russia’s president?” Clinton asked. “I think we know the answer.”

She did not explain what she thought former President Reagan would say about Trump, and continued to blast Trump for his decision not to provide a specific plan to defeat the Islamic State. Trump has said he does not want to reveal any plan he may have because he wants to be unpredictable in facing America’s enemies.
