Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on Monday welcomed the second chance he and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., will get to meet with President Trump after the two Democrats scrapped their meeting with him last week.
“In a very positive development … the White House has reached out and asked for a second meeting with congressional leadership,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “We hope the president will go into this meeting with an open mind, rather than deciding that an agreement can’t be reached beforehand as he did before the first meeting.”
