D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown’s chief of staff has left the office.
“Nicole Streeter served as an important part of the transition of my at-large office to the Office of the Chairman,” Brown said in a statement. “She lent her valuable support to me and the District of Columbia during her tenure. I am thankful for her service and wish her all the best in her new endeavors.”
Brown’s at-large office was known for its high turnover, and staffers have said he can be difficult to work for. This year he has also been at the center of a series of scandals, starting with his push to have a city-leased fully-loaded Lincoln Navigator at his disposal and extending to an ongoing federal investigation of his 2008 campaign finances.
Brown said his legislative director Megan Vahey is his acting chief of staff as he looks for permanent replacement.
