Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, voiced support for President Trump’s national security adviser on Sunday, saying that H.R. McMaster is likely under fire from Russian social-media campaigns intended to sow discord within the administration.

“I think it’s indicative of the idea that the Russians don’t particularly like Gen. McMaster,” Schiff, D-Calif., stated on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “They may not like his policies, what he’s advocating with the administration. Or they may just be seeking to sow further discord among Trump administration officials, feeling that that would weaken the administration.”
