The Hillary Clinton campaign will soon have full use of President Obama’s email list, which could help catapult her fundraising efforts to new levels as she prepares to battle Donald Trump in November.
The move comes as her staffers take the reins of the Democratic National Committee, allowing Clintonites to take the top leadership positions within the party.
Although the Clinton and Obama email list likely have significant overlap, Obama’s supporters should help the former secretary of state gain a new edge. During the 2012 cycle alone, the Obama email list helped the president rake in over $500 million through email and online donations. The list reportedly has over 20 million names.
Obama officially endorsed Clinton on June 9, after she officially secured the 2,383 delegates necessary to win the democratic nomination.
“The best email list is the one you build yourself,” one Clinton ally told The Hill. “But it doesn’t hurt. There’s data they can get from that, ways they can clean it up, there’s stuff that can help fill a void. The more resources that they piece together the better.”
